EmotiGuess: There are a number of existing card games designed to help teach autistic children about emotions. For a Microsoft intern hackathon, our team decided to make an interactive version of one of these games. The player is shown a word describing an emotion and must replicate the facial expression for that emotion. The Kinect uses an algorithm we wrote to detect whether it is the right expression. We thought this was a good alternative to the card game because the children playing it might feel more comfortable alone with the computer rather than with a parent or therapist. Written in C#.
