Tanzanite: I went to a Fashion Tech Hackathon in San Francisco and worked with an amazing, diverse team to prototype Tanzanite, an app to help fashion industry buyers navigate trade shows using beacon technology. Beacons send data to a localized range and a phone can detect when it is in that range and pick up the data. Our team thought this would be useful for buyers at trade shows to quickly find what they are looking for and be alerted. The team included a Rhode Island School of Design alum, a visual merchandiser from Valentino, and people with advertising and engineering backgrounds.
